On November 28 Global Pioneers, a major European startup and investor conference series, held its PioneersKyiv edition, following a festival which took place in summer.
The winner of the PioneersKiyv startup contest was Roman Zadyrako. His startup Tooltip.io has developed a solution to analyze app user behavior and send personalized in-app messages. Zadyrako will participate in Pioneers Festival in Vienna on May 24-25, 2016.
Also pitched to the jury were:
- Mymobstr, which ranked second with its location-based video streaming service, and will be invited to attend courses at the IT Education Academy (ITEA) in Kyiv.
- Comix, a messenger with emotions recognition, which got two tickets to Mystery Play as a prize for the third place.
- Cardiomo family, Navizor, Petiole, Preply and UniExo.
Among the jury experts were Dimitri Podoliev, co-founder of the Seed Forum Eastern Europe Foundation and of the iHUB Network; Viktor Kompaneyets, Head of venture investments at Digital Future; Michael Ryabokon, COO at Noosphere Global; MagneticOne founder Ruslan Savchyshyn, UAngel executive director Regina Makhotina and Katherina Degtyar, principal at WannaBiz, a seed-stage venture fund.
Podoliev announced that a new IT and entrepreneurship center will soon be opened in Kyiv center (Khreshchatik, 10) with the support of the Kyiv city authorities.
Savchyshyn and Podoliev also participated in a discussion panel about startup risk mitigation and funding with the participation. Also participating were Denys Beregovyi of the Juscutum Attorneys Association and Roman Zinchenko of Greencubator.
Podoliev noted that agriculture and blockchain technology to be very perspective sectors to invest in.
Zinchenko believes that “people who survived the war in the East can become entrepreneurs,” and that “they will succeed as they are tougher.” He suggested to launch a movement of “Proud Ukrainian Startups.”
The event was hosted by e-commerce service provider Eltrino and startup business center iHub with the support of the Kyiv city authorities and mobile operator Kyivstar.
