Mastercard launches incubation program for fintech startups in Ukraine

Mastercard has teamed up with 1991 Open Data Incubator, Ukraine’s first incubator for Open Data projects launched in early 2016, and National Bank of Ukraine (the central bank, or NBU) to launch a free incubation program for fintech startups. The program kicks off in October and will last till January 2018.

Dubbed ‘Fintech Master,’ the initiative aims to develop innovative fintech solutions based on open data provided by a variety of financial institutions, including the NBU, and Mastercard’s technological solutions.

“We have been supporting startups as part of the international Mastercard Start Path program since 2014. Today we are glad to support the development of new fintech solutions in Ukraine through the Fintech Master program,” stated Vera Platonova, Mastercard’s general manager in Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia and Central Asia.

The program targets projects fields of open data API, Big Data, analytics, AI and machine learning, Blockchain, marketplaces, platforms as a service, software as a service, IoT, and biometrics.

Startups will receive a working space and mentoring support from financial experts.
