In late January, American-Ukrainian proptech startup Propertymate announced the completion of a $1 million seed round led by Pragmatech Ventures, a Ukrainian VC firm and startup studio.
Founded in 2018 by Dan Hnatkovskyy and Sofia Vyshnevska, Propertymate is a New York-based startup that helps homebuyers search and compare new residential constructions. The platform aims to digitize and simplify the new construction transaction process by matching buyers with home builders and agents.
Currently, the startup team consists of 17 people working in Lviv, Kyiv, New York and Austin, Texas. The company is now actively growing and hiring new employees. Propertymate intends to use the fresh funding to expand its activity to two new US cities.
“Propertymate used to target only real estate agents who needed access to new construction inventory. But with the growth of partnerships with builders, more and more real estate developers expressed that they want us to connect them with buyers directly. We shifted the focus of the platform and started to provide service to real estate buyers also. It resulted as one of the most successful pivots of Propertymate,” the startup’s COO Sofia Vyshnevska said in a statement.
In 2020, Propertymate received $120,000 in equity investment as part of the Techstars acceleration program in Austin.
Launched in September last year, Pragmatech Ventures invests in B2B SaaS projects and marketplaces at the early stage.
