Ukrainian business angels invested $1.6 million in 21 deals in H1 2015

While celebrating its first anniversary last week, the UAngel association announced that its members have closed no fewer than 60 deals since the association inception in June 2014.

Of these deals, 21 took place in the first six month of 2015, totalling more than $1.6 million, reported Ukrainian tech blog AIN.UA.

Most of these deals have not been disclosed, however.

UAngel’s investors invested in a variety of sectors — from e-commerce, to telecom, to hardware — with a predilection for software projects, the association notes.The association now gathers 24 members, including such figures of the Ukrainian venture scene as Natalya Berezovskaya of Detonate Venture, former EastLabs CEO Eveline Buchatsky, Andrey Kolodyuk (AVentures Capital, Divan.TV), and Viktoriya Tigipko (IDCEE, TA Venture).Among the association’s most active parters are venture funds Digital Future, Fison, Gravia VC and D2N8, as well as Odess-based incubator WannaBiz.
