Resuming activities in Ukraine after two years of interruption, Mobile Monday gathered more than 90 industry professionals at Kyiv (Kiev)’s iHUB on June 25. In addition to mobile developers, project managers, top managers and investors, the event hosted industry figures from such companies as Groupon, ABBYY, Lohika Systems, Intersog, 4shared, Ciklum, Luxoft, PaymentWall.
Also attending were Ms. Arja Makkonen, Ambassador of Finland to Ukraine, and Dimitri Podoliev, co-founder and CEO at iHUB Network, with Mobile Monday’s founder Jari Tammisto speaking from Helsinki via via Skype.
iHUB is a network of centers for entrepreneurship and innovation established on the initiative of Seed Forum in 2014. Aiming to contribute to the development of innovative startups, iHUB is a part of the Norwegian-Ukrainian network of centers for entrepreneurs, innovators, and IT specialists. iHUB is planning to expand activities to Vinnitsa and Lviv in western Ukraine in 2015 as well as to Moldova and Georgia.
Mobile Monday started back in 2000 in Helsinki, Finland when figures of the local mobile industry invited peers for an informal event event to share knowledge on mobile trends, markets, technologies, and innovative services. Since this landmark meeting, Mobile Monday has launched activities in some 140 locations on all continents. Mobile Monday Oy, based in Finland, coordinates this global activity.
The first Kiev Mobile Mondays were held between 2007 and 2012.
