TA Ventures invests in German metasearch engine for clothing and lifestyle products

Earlier this month Kyiv-based TA Ventures took part in a €2.3 million round of funding for Stylelounge, a German startup which operates a metasearch engine for clothing and lifestyle products.

Also participating in the round were Axivate Capital, ASTUTIA Ventures as well as several business angels and family offices, according to CrunchBase and other media reports.

The company had already received an undisclosed amount from TA Venture at the seed stage, in June 2014.

Stylelounge, which launched recently in France and the Netherlands will use the funds to expand further throughout Europe. Founded less than one year ago, the startup plans to add another five European countries by the end of year.

The company claims to feature products from more than 100 partners, making an assortment of over 1.2 million products accessible via its metasearch engine. The startup makes money by receiving a kickback for the leads its metasearch engine generates, notes TechCrunch.

Led by Viktoriya Tigipko, a prominent figure on the Ukrainian IT and VC scene, TA Ventures seeks to invest mainly in the USA, Europe, and emerging markets like India, Brazil and African countries. The fund has made eight exits to date, including deals to leave New York City-based budget mobile-booking service WeHostels (acquired in November 2013 by leading student-focused travel agency StudentUniverse), Indian Little Eye Labs, which develops a performance-analysis and monitoring tool (acquired in January 2014 by Facebook), and Russian CarPrice in July of this year.
