Starting this fall LaMetric, a stylish and smart clock for smart home and business environments, is available on Amazon in a variety of countries.
Designed by Smart Atoms, a London-headquartered startup with Ukrainian roots, LaMetric presents itself as “an Internet-connected clock that makes your space unique with charming clock faces, controls smart home with a glance, tracks business metrics in real time, creates music atmosphere with the dance of pixels.”
Currently, the device is on sale in the UK, Germany, France, Canada, Japan and the USA via Amazon as well as in Switzerland via local retailer Brack.
The company intends to launch the product in the Ukrainian market in a further stage.
According to Smart Atoms CEO Nazar Bilous, striking the partnership with Amazon was relatively easy. “They support startups enormously in terms of sales, especially after the crowdfunding is completed. If you have the necessary knowledge and tools, it is not difficult to agree,” Ukrainian tech blog AIN.UA quoted Bilous as saying.
“The idea of LaMetric came during my work on digital products at Lemberg Solutions [a UK-headquartered software developer with its R&D office in Lviv (Lvov), Ukraine]. It was important to keep people’s motivation by displaying digital metrics so that they could see the results of their work,” recalls Bilous.
“After we raised $370,000 on Kickstarter, our devices were produced by [Chinese manufacturer] Foxconn and delivered to thousands customers a year after the campaign,” he added.
Bilous founded Smart Atoms with his partner Dmytro Baryskyy and Ihor Kishchak in 2013.
