PrivatBank launches e-payments via iMessage and Telegram

The clients of PrivatBank, an innovation-friendly Ukrainian bank, can now transfer money and pay their mobile phone bills directly via iMessage, if they have an iOS 10-supported iPhone.

To perform a transaction, users just need to press the Privat24’s icon shown in iMessage’s menu, indicate the amount of money to be transferred, and choose the necessary operation.

“iMessage is the most widespread messenger with the highest level of security in the world. Therefore PrivatBank had to be there,” said Alexander Vityaz, Vice Chairman and Head of the E-business Center at PrivatBank.

Earlier this year the bank introduced a similar service on Telegram for Android-users.

When presenting this iMessage payment feature last week, PrivatBank claimed that it was the first bank in the world to announce such a service.

However, users of several payment service providers across the world, including N26 and Circle in western countries and Yandex.Money in Russia, can already use a similar service.
