Mobalytics, a startup founded by Ukrainian entrepreneur Bogdan Suchyk, raised a seed round of $2.6 million from Almaz Capital, Founders Fund, General Catalyst and GGV Capital. The news was reported today by TechCrunch.
The funding comes just two months after Mobalytics won the ‘Startup Battlefield’ of this year’s TechCrunch Disrupt, one of the most important contests in the global startup scene. Mobalytics walked away with $50,000 and the coveted Disrupt Cup.
Mobalytics defines itself as “the first personal performance analytics and improvement tools for competitive gamers.” The platform analyzes players’ in-game, physical and mental performance, helps them define their weaknesses and strengths, and provides them with personalized advice to improve their game.
The startup’s analytics engine has been tested with League of Legends, one of the most popular online battle titles with tens of millions of monthly active users across the world. Now Mobalytics has plans to expand to other e-sports titles like Overwatch, DOTA 2 and Counter Strike, reported TechCrunch.
“Esports is an incredibly promising market, making Mobalytics an encouraging company for this space,” the US tech blog believes.
As many tech startups with Ukrainian roots, Mobalytics presents itself as an international company. It has established its headquarters in Santa Monica, California, while its corporate site does not mention its Ukrainian origin.
