Earlier this month Igor Smelyansky, the CEO of Ukrainian Post, announced that the national postal operator started testing Berlingo Electric, Citroën’s electric vehicle, for its delivery fleet.
As announced at the beginning of the year, Ukrainian Post expects electric cars to deliver up to 15% of parcels in Kyiv (Kiev) by 2018 and roughly 40% of parcels across Ukraine by 2021.
The operator is planning to allocate $128 million to upgrade its fleet within the next five years.
