Narrative BI, a software startup headquartered in San Francisco, has raised $1.2 million in a pre-seed funding round from a consortium of Eastern European investors. These include, in particular, Adventures Lab and Digital Future, two Ukrainian VC firms; Joint Journey, a Cyprus-registered vehicle of top Russian business angel Sergey Dashkov; and Elysium Venture Capital, a US venture firm co-founded by Belarusian native Nikolai Oreshkin.
Founders.ai also took part in the round. This investment firm was founded by Michael Rumiantsau, a Belarusian who now lives in the USA, and is the founder of Narrative BI. His previous startup FriendlyData was acquired by ServiceNow in 2018.
Launched last year, Narrative BI describes itself as “a no-code augmented analytics platform for growth teams that automatically turns raw data into actionable narratives.”
As reported by Ukrainian tech blog AIN.UA, the beta version of the Narrative BI service, launched in August 2021, has already been used by 70 customers.
