Startup Odessa has teamed up with the local city council to launch Betamisto, an Amsterdam-inspired accelerator for urban projects. The initiative – the first of its kind in Ukraine – aims “to coordinate the power of startups to solve the problems of the Ukrainian cities and replace the current state procurement system.”
The members of the acceleration program, which kicks off on January 15, will benefit from over 200 hours of studying, as well as mentorship and access to the city resources. Also, they will learn to participate in tenders.
Applications are open till December 4. The final demo is scheduled for April 15.
Odessa is a major city in southern Ukraine and one of the centers of the local IT scene.
