Ukraine’s tech-friendly interbank currency exchange is Europe’s fastest-growing company

Inc.com, a N.Y.-based weekly publication for small business and startups, ranked the Ukrainian Interbank Currency Exchange (UICE) number one in its just-published list of the fastest-growing European private companies.

UICE’s three-year revenue growth rate was 24,845% during the period 2015-2017 with total revenue reaching €79.3 million over these three years.  UICE took the top spot among 5,000 companies included in the 2019 Inc. 5000 Europe list.

Established in 1993, this interbank currency exchange became an authorized exchange platform offering electronic auctions for the sale of oil, gas condensate and coal in Ukraine in the early 2000s.

UICE utilizes the state-of-the-art FTN Monitor electronic system (known as ‘The Exchanger’) for trading with an almost unlimited number of remote trader terminals that are connected to the system servers through the Internet.  The user system is Windows-based and works with standard browsers like Google Chrome, Firefox, or Internet Explorer. (Read here more details on UICE’s technologies.)

UICE is led by Oleksandr Ginzburg and had only 15 employees in 2017. The company is part of the UICE Group, which also includes ‘UCE House of Contracts,’ the leading commodities exchange in Ukraine, founded in 2001.

The group now trades stocks and derivatives as well as commodities.  It is under the control and ownership of London-based and UK-registered FTN Monitor Ltd. This company has a market data, news, analysis and trade execution platform and is active in the global equity, commodity and financial markets.
