Ukrainian studio makes first-ever local film using virtual reality

Ukraine’s film industry produced its first-ever movie using virtual reality technology, as a crew of 40 people shot the comedy “Apple Man” using a high-speed camera robot and enormous flexible screens wrapped around walls.

Directed by Ukrainian Vasyl Moskalenko, the comedy tells a grotesque story of a lab-made superhero created by the U.S. intelligence service and who has to fight evil villains to save the universe.

“Super-hero Apple-Man is a product of genetic engineering. A result of secret experiment in creating supersoldiers. For the past 30 years, he has perfected his superpowers in Tibet. The greatest villain of all time Doctor Burgerman has declared an open season on humanity. And Apple-man is our last hope,” says the trailert.
