Ukrainian-founded Poptop secures £400,000 to develop its online event marketplace in the UK

Seven years after its creation by Ukrainian entrepreneurs Evgeniy Shestopal (CEO) and Ignat Tkhorovskiy (CTO), Poptop is making its way on the UK market.

The entertainment booking service provider has just raised £440,000 from existing investors, DSW Ventures and NorthStar Ventures, as reported by UK Tech News

Poptop intends to use the funding to grow its event booking platform and expand internationally and into new sectors. It hopes to raise a Series A funding round later this year.

Poptop launched its event booking platform on the British market in 2015, soon after it won a  grant from the British government and relocated to Newcastle. In 2017, the startup attracted  £120,000 in its first funding round.

The company aims to make the event booking process “simple, fast, and reliable” for clients and performers. It says it generates about 250 requests for artist performances monthly.
