Ukrainian web-based 3D holiday game gets recognition in international contests

Earlier this month Eleks, a global software development company with head office in Lviv (Lvov), Ukraine, saw one of its recent digital projects, a multi-device WebGL virtual reality game, honored as People’s Champ at the 10th annual Pixel Awards.

Based on the votes of a digital savvy audience, Back2Pack led the Experimental category. Developed as the company’s interactive greeting for the holiday season, the game is a mix of gameplay with an ingenious technical solution, using a smartphone and with Google Cardboard serving as its screen, and a second smartphone used as the game controller.

Back2Pack was also recognized as the Mobile Site of the Day on January 30, 2016 by the Favorite Website Awards (FWA) program.

Previously, Eleks saw its Google Glass Experiment, which demonstrated the use of Google Glass in sports, and its 3D car interior preview website listed among FWA winners.

Established in 1991, Eleks specializes in full-cycle software product engineering services, leveraging technologies such as data analytics, the Internet-of-Things, mobile applications and wearables. It has a team of 900 IT professionals in Eastern Europe and offices in the United States and Western Europe.
