Launched by serial entrepreneur Oleg Roginskyy, People.ai helps sales person benchmark their skills, track their improvement and receive personalized advice to become “sales rockstars.”
In addition, the technology can match the right candidates to the right companies, “making hiring easier, faster, and more objective than ever before,” according to the startup.
“The idea sprouted from our founder, Oleg Rogynskyy, after he became increasingly frustrated while pouring through piles of resumes,” People.ai explains on its website.
“Oleg wanted to find salespeople with terrific sales skills and the necessary connections to create and close opportunities. He thought that there must be a better way to evaluate sales talent. So Oleg joined up with Kevin Yang, data scientist extraordinaire, to crack this challenge. Crunching user, company and public data, they uncovered patterns in human behavior that can predict the success of a salesperson at a particular company better than a resume ever could,” the startup claims.
Silicon Valley stars
Ukrainian tech blog AIN.UA has reported that People.ai recently secured a pre-seed round of funding from Garage Technology Ventures — one of the most established venture funds in Silicon Valley — as well as from a bevy of US and Ukrainian business angels.
Among these business angels are Ben Boyer, Nick Bilogorskiy, Samuel Kwok, Kevin Mahaffey, Yevgen Sysoyev, and others.
“Oleg is the best B2B sales and marketing executive I know, and we worked together on a few projects. So when he presented to me his new product and strategy, I immediately wrote the check,” Sysoyev — who is managing partner at Ukrainian fund AVentures Capital — told Ukraine Digital News.
The total amount of the investment has not been disclosed, but AIN has learned that the business angels contributed no less than $450,000 to the round.
