More than one in four Ukrainian online shoppers bought smartphones and mobiles phones in the first quarter of this year, the Ukrainian Retail Association reported, citing a research released by local e-commerce platform Price.ua.
With nearly 5% of online consumers buying them, car tyres were the second most popular category. TV sets (4%), tablets (2%) and laptops (2%) completed the list.
Price.ua also noted that the popularity of the spare car parts and car tyres category increased by 25%, as compared to Q4 2016.
To date, Internet penetration is just above 40% in Ukraine. However, 9 in 10 Ukrainian online users have shopped online at least once, which is twice as much as back in 2011.
More and more online purchases will be made via smartphones this year, the analysts believe..
