Top tech conference offers €10,000 prize to startups from the “New East” (apply by Apr. 20)

On May 12-14 EMERGE, a top tech conference covering Eastern Europe and Central Asia, will hold its third edition in an online format and in English language (more information and tickets here).

One of the side events, ‘EMERGE CHALLENGE,’ is a pitching competition with a €10,000 prize. Among the investors who will attend are such leading funds as Almaz Capital, Atomico, Fort Ross Ventures, Runa Capital, Sequoia Capital, 500 Startups and many others

In addition to the main prize, participants will receive awards in several categories from the conference partners: VTB (Emerging Fintech Startup), Askona (Emerging Wellbeing Startup), Chivas (Emerging Sustainability and Responsibility Startup), Zubr Capital. Sber, Megafon and Microsoft representatives will be in the jury.

The goal is to help startups scale globally by connecting with the right people. In last year’s edition of EMERGE, this competition gathered hundreds of startups and dozens of VCs, ecosystem players and journalists as judges and startup mentors.

Startups from Eastern Europe, including Ukraine, are welcome to apply until April 20 (additional information here).

EMERGE was founded by two young female entrepreneurs, Margo Lazarenkova and Alina Nilsson, and has been connecting great minds since 2018 in Minsk, Belarus. In 2020 the conference had to switch to an online format due to the pandemic. It attracted more than 4,300 like-minded people (including 43% of women) from more than 100 countries: startups, tech talent, investors, media and corporates.
