Major Swiss company acquires Ukrainian-founded proptech startup

Earlier this month Ringier, an established Swiss media and technology company, announced the full acquisition of Homsters, a leading SaaS-provider for new property developments.

The two companies had developed a “successful strategic partnership since 2019 providing state-of-the-art technology to Ringier’s leading property portals in Switzerland and Poland,” says Ringier.

Founded in Kyiv in 2015 by Ukrainian Maria Ren and Polish Andrzej Olejnik, Homsters is now incorporated in Singapore with offices in Singapore, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. Its solution and services help property developers, investors and banks build and operate marketplaces, converting online traffic into transactions.

Homsters has developed an AI-driven recommendation engine that “analyzes the user’s behavior and proposes new apartments to potential buyers.” Homsters also operates “an end-to-end transaction model for new developments in Kazakhstan selling up to 100 entities monthly.”

Through this acquisition, Ringier aims to “strengthen its digital value proposition for property developers internationally,” with Homsters CEO Dmitriy Aleksandrov and his team “continuing to scale automated digital marketing solutions for promoting and selling new property developments online.”

“Homsters has strong talents and know-how in Ukraine and Kazakhstan that will strengthen Ringier’s central tech capabilities to provide solutions for the new development segment of our digital marketplaces,”  added Kilian Kämpfen, Ringier’s Chief Technology & Data Officer.
