Ukrainian startups are invited to participate in the third edition of Get in the Ring!, a major international startup competition to be held on November 24 in Budapest, Hungary.
Eight pre-selected startups will fight for the Central and Eastern European title. The winner will get an investment offer of €200,000 and will participate in the Get in the Ring! Global Final. All the costs will be covered by the organizer. This year there is a great fight between New York and Singapore to organize the finals.
The concept of GITR differs from traditional pitch competitions. The representatives of eight startup teams can qualify for the regional final and enter the ring. Similar to boxing matches, the teams have five rounds to convince the jury that their business offers the most promising investment opportunity.
To apply, a startup should have a validated business model, a completed prototype and is especially looking for external sources to enter the market. The main purpose of the competition is to provide an opportunity to join the global startup ecosystem of startup businesses, to establish a personal contact with professionals in the field or obtain investment for their businesses.
This year the contest will welcome candidates from 13 European countries: Hungary, Austria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Croatia, Lithuania, Poland, Latvia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Romania and Ukraine.
A panel of jury consists of internationally recognized professionals in the startup community.
“I cannot reveal all the names, but I can gladly say that the jury’s work will be supported among others by the leaders of Techstars from London, the Estonian Startup Wise Guys and members of the Austrian Pioneers Ventures,” says Bence Katona, the main organizer of the event.
The event will be held under the patronage of the President of the National Research, Development and Innovation office, Dr. József Pálinkás.
Remarkably, the last year winner Practify received an investment of 800.000 € directly from a professional investor involved in the work of the jury.
The event is being organized by Enterprise Hungary, the mission of which is to develop the national innovation ecosystem, and to catalyze the new generation of startups.
